The information and policies provided here relate to details and purchases of Krista McRae’s Treasure Chest pieces currently available. As well as relating to other ready-made pieces & gift vouchers purchased direct from Krista’s studio.
Please take the time to carefully read and do contact Krista with any queries prior to making a purchase.
Jewellery Descriptions
All jewellery pieces in the Treasure Chest are designed & handmade by Krista McRae in Melbourne, Australia.
The handmade process includes such characteristics as file markings on surfaces, variations in dimensions and more. The organic appearance and irregularities of the pieces are an integral part of the design, and not to be considered as flaws. Each piece of jewellery is unique.
Krista prides herself on sourcing a variety of beautiful gemstones, focusing on Australian sapphires and conflict free diamonds.
Every effort is made to display accurate images on this website. However please note that actual colours may vary from the photographed version. This can be due to different monitors, photographic lighting conditions, and even how individuals view and name a colour differently.
Dimensions are included in the descriptions. All measurements are in millimetres (mm), and they are approximate.
Ring sizes are included in the descriptions. They are sized in the UK alphabetical system. Seek out an online size chart to see conversions to the US and EU numerical sizes.

-International Shipping-
AUD $45 Express post. Estimated delivery 4-10 business days.
Sent via Australia Post with signature on delivery. Currently we only ship internationally to UK, US, New Zealand and Canada. Please email Krista for a shipping quote to a country not on the list. Be aware that a number of countries do not accept jewellery and precious materials via post and courier. It is highly recommended that clients / buyers contact the local customs office to confirm restricted items and any other queries.
International shipping may be subject to custom duties and taxes upon arrival, and these are the responsibility of the recipient. Krista McRae is not responsible for any restriction issues and foreign costs.

The above shipping offers $100 value compensation from Australia Post for any loss or damage while in transit.
INSURANCE / EXTRA COVER is available. Please email Krista for a quote prior to making a purchase. Alternatively complete a purchase, select & pay for Express shipping, and write a clear message requesting a quote in the Checkout “Additional Information” section. Allow 2-3 business days for a quote to be issued (less any shipping payment already made). Once confirmed by the client, an invoice will be sent requiring full payment prior to dispatch.
Tracking numbers are provided to clients once goods are dispatched.
Delivery times are an estimate only to major cities and metro areas. Regional and rural destinations could take longer.
Krista takes great care to wrap and package all purchases securely. However, she is not liable for any delay, loss, or damage to the goods while in transit, or by the recipient. Krista is not liable for any goods being returned as undelivered. Any additional costs regarding these matters are the responsibility of the client and/or the recipient.

In some cases, Krista may arrange a quote from an alternative shipping and courier company. She will advise if this is the better option.
Pricing and Payments
All Treasure Chest prices are listed in AUD.
Prices include 10% GST (Australian Government Goods & Services Tax) for those purchases being shipped to an Australian address.
Purchases being shipped internationally will pay the same full price as listed, but are calculated as tax free.
At the Checkout, shipping costs will be added or a quote request will be sent to Krista.

Purchases including the shipping costs must be paid in full prior to shipping.
Payments are processed via secure SSL checkout using Stripe (debit and credit cards) or PayPal linked to this SquareSpace built site. Email Krista to enquire about other payment options such as direct bank transfer.
Prices are subject to change without notice.
Should there be a genuine error in a Treasure Chest price, we reserve the right to refund and cancel the purchase. We will contact the client to discuss.
Exchange and Return
Treasure Chest pieces are ready-made and can be exchanged if there is a change-of-mind. These exchanges can be processed towards the purchase of another piece of jewellery or towards a credit note (valid 6 months). Refunds are not available for change-of-mind.
Notification must be given in writing for any exchange request within 5 days of receiving the piece/s. Please email Krista for her to consider the request and provide further details as required.
Pieces to be exchanged must be unworn, in original condition and in secure packaging. Clients are responsible for any return shipping costs, and for damage or loss while in transit. A shipping tracking number must be recorded.
In the case of any international returns incurring custom duties and taxes upon arrival back in Australia (if applicable), the international sender will need to pay these.
In the rare case of a fault, please email Krista immediately to discuss.
Gift Vouchers and Credit Notes
Gift Vouchers are available. They are valid for 3 years from date of purchase and are non-refundable.
Credit Notes & Artist Gifts can be redeemed for Treasure Chest pieces.
Clients will need to email Krista directly to purchase and redeem. Currently these cannot be processed through the Treasure Chest and Checkout.
Ring Resizing
Ring sizes are included in the Treasure Chest descriptions. They are sized in the UK alphabetical system. Seek out an online size chart to see conversions to the US and EU numerical sizes.
Resizing a ring prior to purchase could be an option. Alternatively, a ring could be purchased and then returned for a possible resize OR returned for a Bespoke commission.

It may be possible to resize by 2-4 sizes dependent on the ring design. Resizing incurs an extra cost and will be quoted per basis. Once resized, the ring cannot be exchanged, returned, or refunded.
An adjustable ring sizer can be purchased for $3.00 from the Treasure Chest and shipped free of charge within Australia. We do not ship these internationally. It is also recommend clients perhaps visit a local jeweller to have a ring size taken.
Krista does not take any responsibility for any incorrect choice of size provided by a client, and she reserves the right to refuse completing a re-size.

Jewellery Care and Repairs
Jewellery should be regarded as a precious object, and it is vital to take proper care to ensure it lasts. Be careful not to wear jewellery in situations where damage may potentially occur to your skin, clothes, or to the piece itself.
When not being worn, ideally jewellery should be stored in the box in which it was sold to preserve it, or individually wrapped in acid-free tissue paper.
Precious metals will naturally tarnish over time. Both gold and silver can be maintained by cleaning with silver foam or a jeweller’s cloth. Never allow sterling silver to come in contact with chlorine. Metals will receive marks and scratches through daily wear, and these markings can tell the life story of a much-loved piece.
All set gemstones should be treated with care. Even diamonds and sapphires can be damaged by impact, resulting in chips and fractures. Be careful not to expose gemstones to harsh chemicals, perfumes or abrasive materials which may dull, erode, discolour, or scratch the surface your gemstone.
Repairs will be undertaken at Krista’s discretion and may be subject to additional cost depending upon the circumstances.
Please note that daily wear and tear or damage due to misuse are not considered faults.
Jewellery is precious and delicate and should be treated with upmost care to preserve its integrity and beauty.
